NAME Day takes place on the first Saturday of October each year to kick-off International Dollhouse and Miniatures Month. A tribute to our parent organization, N.A.M.E. (the National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts), the concept is to have everyone working on the same project on the same day all over the world. Each year a new project is designed. Kits are made available from multiple wood cutters in a choice of wood and scale. Club members gather to put their kits together, usually with lots of sharing and food! Then each person finishes the item in their own style. From our creative types, every project is transformed into a unique work of art! This page highlights our member’s NAME Day projects.
These are the kits released by year:
The galleries below primarily showcase miniatures that have been created by and/or are owned by members of MSC.

2010 – 1st Annual NAME Day – “THE HUTCH”
The first kit was a large open shelved china cabinet, not necessarily for kitchens.
2011 – 2nd Annual NAME Day – “WORKCENTER” (Kitchen Island)
This second kit, the Workcenter, had a butcher block top, lower cabinet and shelves at either end. It was just as complicated and difficult to put together as it looks!
2012 – 3rd Annual NAME Day – “THE ALCOVE” (Window Seat)
The Alcove was a wonderfully versatile display piece that could be made to surround a window or not. The center seat lifts to reveal hidden storage.
2013 – 4th Annual NAME Day – “A CART FOR ALL REASONS” (Peddler’s Cart)
Lots can hang from the open grid on this Peddler’s Cart.
2014 – 5th Annual NAME Day – “COZY CORNER” (Corner Table & Bench Seats)
The Cozy Corner dining set was fun and a bit retro.
2015 – 6th Annual NAME Day – “WINDOW SHOPPING” (A Shop Window)
The shop window kit could be put into any frame and decorated from quaint to opulent.
2016 – 7th Annual NAME Day – “BEDROOM PART I: GOING BUNKERS” (Bunk Beds)
The first of three coordinated pieces for a bedroom, the bunk beds kit included a trundle that fit underneath.
2017 – 8th Annual NAME Day – “BEDROOM PART II: THE ARMOIRE”
The armoire had three inner drawers, a large lower drawer, a hanging bar and an interior mirror.

2018 – 9th Annual NAME Day – “BEDROOM PART III: DESK & CHAIR”
This year’s project was a chair and a desk that includes three drawers and an organizer hutch over the top. Although we don’t have photos of the completed projects yet, we had great fun and feast while putting them together.
